It usually happens because the shape of the vessel—maybe a weird bend or a thick base—blocks the heat from getting where it needs to go.&#xA;We&amp;rsquo;ve found that quartz halogen emitters are the best way to kill those cold spots. These lamps use short-wave infrared (SWIR) radiation. Instead of just warming the air, the heat actually punches through the glass to hit the core of the piece. It doesn&amp;rsquo;t matter how complex the shape is; the heat gets in.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;How it actually works&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Think about convection heating. It relies on air moving around. If the glass is too close to the bulb, you risk localized overheating. That&amp;rsquo;s how you get thermal shock, and nobody wants that. You&amp;rsquo;ve got to find the &amp;ldquo;sweet spot&amp;rdquo; for distance.&#xA;Also, if you&amp;rsquo;re pushing 2000W or more in a tight space, don&amp;rsquo;t skimp on your cooling fans. You need to keep the ends of the lamps cool, or you&amp;rsquo;ll be replacing them way sooner than you should.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
