Stop Letting Your Patio Die in the Winter
Most restaurant owners just accept that their outdoor seating becomes a ghost town once the temperature drops. It’s a waste of space. We fix that with infrared heaters, but not the kind that just try to warm up the air. See, traditional heaters fight a losing battle against the wind. Infrared is different. It beams heat directly onto your guests’ skin and clothes. It feels like sitting in the sun on a crisp autumn day. When people actually feel warm, they don’t rush through their meal to get inside. They linger.
Making the Space Feel “Indoor”
We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We look at your specific patio layout and map it out. We use short-wave emitters because they hit instantly. There’s no “warm-up” period. Your guests aren’t sitting there shivering for ten minutes while the machine gets up to speed. By layering a few high-powered units, we create these little pockets of warmth. It basically tricks the brain into thinking they’re in a cozy indoor room, even if the wind is blowing.
The Boring (But Important) Technical Stuff
Most of these setups use quartz or halogen. Since this is for outdoors, we only use waterproof housings. Nobody wants a short circuit during a December snowstorm. One thing to watch out for: your electrical panel. These heaters pull a lot of power. If your system is already pushed to the limit, you’ll end up tripping a breaker right in the middle of a Friday night rush. We usually suggest a dedicated circuit just to be safe.
Why This Actually Matters for Your Wallet
This isn’t just about being nice to your customers. It’s a money move. If you can keep those tables full in December and January, you aren’t losing a huge chunk of your seating capacity. And here’s the best part: people stay longer. That means they’re more likely to order that second glass of wine or a round of desserts and coffee. Just a heads-up on the install: height is everything. Mount them too low, and you’ll roast your guests’ heads. Mount them too high, and the heat vanishes before it ever reaches the table. We get the height just right so you actually get what you paid for.
